The DC Power Laboratory

For some time now, research has been conducted at The Hague University of Applied Sciences on the use of Direct Current. The use of Direct Current will play an important role in the energy transition. To raise awareness on this subject among students, internships and graduation assignments are offered within the DC Power Laboratory of the research group Energy in Transition at THUAS. As young researchers, students are given the opportunity to tackle various issues in order to make the transition from Alternating Current to Direct Current as smooth as possible. Power Electronics Enables DC Systems  

An electric car consists of several electrical modules that work together to power the vehicle. Some of the main electrical modules of an electric car are:  battery pack, electric motor, onboard charger, DC-DC converter and inverter. We research all types of power electronics, an electric car is a good example of a DC system.
